The ‘National Museum of Animation’ is conceived as being one of the most unique and exciting animation-related organizations in the world. Planned entirely as a non-profit entity and located in the Pacific Northwest, the NMA will celebrate the ‘Past’, ‘Present’ and ‘Future’ of animation. The ultimate mission of the NMA will be to inspire, teach, support and enable the master animators of tomorrow. But first it will begin here, online.
In terms of animation’s ‘Past’, unique examples of animation’s 100+ year journey will be on permanent display at the NMA – featuring ‘art’, ‘tools’ and ‘technologies’ from animation’s early stumblings, all the way through to the very latest of animation achievements to be found in the Game, TV & Film worlds of today.
The NMA will also establish its own ‘Animation Hall of Fame’, where the finest of animators from the past, present and future will be honored and celebrated.
Beyond this however, the NMA will work to establish its own teaching ‘Academy’, coupled with a groundbreaking indie ‘Production Studio’, where the finest of animators and animation can be supported within the USA once again. Ultimately, revenues from these two great ventures will ensure that the NMA will become financially self-sufficient and self-supporting far into the future.
