The most valuable thing for all animators is to have their work seen by the world. Therefore we hope that NMA's online theater will be the most visited place on our website as time goes by, representing as it will some of the finest animation from all around the world!
To enable funding for this to happen we will ultimately have to charge a small fee for visitors to watch our changing animated film seasons. However, for now entrance to the theater is entirely FREE. (Although you can still make a donation to the work of the museum if you wish by using the relevant button below.) Either way, simply scroll down and enjoy the film!

'ENDANGERED SPECIES' (10mins 23secs)
As a taster of how the NMA 'Theater' will work in the future, Founder and CEO of NMA, Tony White, has kindly donated his own short film, 'ENDANGERED SPECIES' to demonstrate how our Theater will work. Tony began this film (with the help of many of his students at the time) a year or two prior to Disney closing down its Burbank traditional animation studio in 2002. In this sense the film was prophetic. Effectively it represents a very personal journey through the rise, fall and hopeful rise again of traditional, hand drawn animation in the USA. Sadly, little has changed in the States since the 2D animation industry collapsed in the USA in 2002, which is the reason why a formal and permanent National Museum of Animation needs to be established. Its mission is to encourage a revival of the wonderful 2D animation art-form in the USA in the foreseeable future. We note that the rest of the world celebrates and produces outstanding traditional 2D animation. So why not the USA we ask?
